Arguing with God
Up To Know Good on Monday

When I first thought about creating these daily messages, I was overwhelmed. I sat on my couch one evening and told God, “I can’t do this. How will I ever be able to do everything I ask my readers to do? I’m totally unqualified.” In my spirit I heard God’s response to me: “Sara, I only have imperfect people to work with. You’re all I’ve got, or I’d use someone else! Will you do it?” How could I say no to that?!

Do Good - Examine your soul today and ask honestly - Has God called me to do something I feel unqualified to accomplish? If so, don’t put it off any longer! Surrender your insecurities and answer God’s call today.

Naively I thought that was the end of my discussion with God. It was really just the beginning as I started to write and write and write! Sometimes as I work, I get distracted by doubt. As soon as I become aware of my negative thoughts, I remind myself of God’s call and keep writing - imperfect as I may be!

“But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?’ And God said, ‘I will be with you,’” Exodus 3:12. Read God’s conversation with Moses in Exodus 3:1-12.

God, I’m glad You can see that my arguments come from my own insecurity. Thanks for calling me to be a part of Your work in the world.
