Up To Know Good on Wednesday

High School

Years ago on a beautiful, sunny spring day, I decided to go for a run. This was an unusual decision as I hadn’t done any kind of workout for several months. I also had not gone running for years. As I rounded the first corner past my apartment complex, I found myself across the street from the local high school. I was slowly making my way down the sidewalk when a car full of students came by. They laughed and shouted several insults at me before turning into the school parking lot. I “ignored” them and kept running, but my eyes started to burn with tears and my chest was heavy with embarrassment.

Do Good - Has someone laughed at you? Have you forgiven them? Take time right now to deal with it by bringing your hurt to God.

About a year later, I was running in a marathon. As I did, I briefly thought about those high school boys. “Here I am,” I thought. “Your hurtful words and insulting laughter didn’t stop me!” After I was able to forgive and forget, I continued on in the race with a huge smile on my face. I was free, and I was still running!

“They laughed at Him [Jesus], knowing that she was dead. But He took her by the hand and said, ‘My child, get up!’” Luke 8:53-54. Read the miraculous story in Luke 8:40-42, 49-56.

Jesus, You know how it feels to be laughed at. Help me to forgive. I want to be free today.

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!

Blessings,
Sara
