Up To Know Good on Wednesday
June 28, 2006
When I registered for my first year of college classes, I took two placement exams. First I had an oral exam with the French professor. That test put me in exactly the right French class for my level of knowledge. The other exam was for math. I had taken calculus in high school, and after seeing my score, the math instructors strongly encouraged me to take Calculus II. Unlike French, this was not a good fit. I came home at Christmas break and told my parents that I had failed calculus.
Do Good - Are you in a situation where failure seems inevitable? Do you feel like you have been placed somewhere you dont belong? Take some time and read the story of Moses today. Remember that success is not dependent on you, but on God.
Even though I struggled in Calculus II, I never dropped the course. I went in for tutoring with the professor and spent hours studying. When my grades arrived in the mail, I was shocked to find out that I had received a D+! I was never so thankful for such a grade. It meant I was done taking math classes forever; what a relief!
Moses said to the Lord, O Lord, I have never been eloquent. I am slow of speech and tongue. Exodus 4:10. Read more in Exodus 4:10-17.
God, I hate feeling overwhelmed and inadequate. Help me to stop looking at my shortcomings and to start seeing Your abilities today.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
