Unqualified
Up To Know Good on Thursday
June 29, 2006
When I started writing these daily emails, I told God I wasnt qualified. I told Him there was no way I could Do Good each day myself. I had other excuses, too. I dont have a seminary degree. Im an extrovert and cant handle that much alone time writing. Im not sure people will really be helped, and what if they dont like what I write? I had long list of excuses to cover the inadequacy I felt.
Do Good - Do you feel too young, too old, too uneducated, too introverted, too extroverted, too something for what God is asking you to do? Are you listening to Him? Take time throughout your day to just listen and imagine the great things God might have for you to do!
Throughout the Bible there are people telling God, I cant. As I started studying the Bible more, I realized that almost no one felt qualified to do the work God gave them. Instead, after giving many excuses like me, they finally just gave in to what God was asking and accepted the adventure He put before them. Im so glad that I did the same.
Ah, Sovereign Lord, I said, I do not know how to speak; I am only a child. But the Lord said to me, Do not say, I am only a child. Jeremiah 1:6-7a. Read about Jeremiahs calling in Jeremiah 1:4-10.
Lord, I know you are calling me today. Give me the courage to set aside my excuses and accept Your invitation to this adventure.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
