Up To Know Good on Friday
June 30, 2006
Sitting in Starbucks one afternoon, I saw a little boy about two years old trying to open the heavy door. I looked out the window and saw his Dad waving at him, encouraging him to come outside. His small body leaned into the glass as he pushed with all of his might. Suddenly the door began to open a little bit. His mom had started to help him. The little boy turned around, saw what she was doing and pushed her away. Again, he strained to open the door himself without success. Finally, he gave in and let his mom assist.
Do Good - As you open doors (literally and figuratively) today, think of this determined little boy. Imagine the hand of Jesus reaching from behind and helping you move into the next steps.
As soon as the door opened widely enough, the little boy ran into his daddys arms. He desperately wanted to get to his father, but he wanted to do it on his own. When he finally accepted his moms help, he was able to get there. When we accept Jesus help and strength, the door opens for us to the Father. We are free to run, play, and enjoy!
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. Read Romans 5:1-11.
Jesus, thanks for qualifying me for heaven and opening the door to the Father by what You have already done!
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
