Just Ask
Up To Know Good on Tuesday
July 04, 2006

When I was in high school, I would often come home in the afternoons and find my sister wearing one of my sweaters. I would demand to know, Why do you have my clothes on? You told me I could wear it, Beth always replied confidently. With rising irritation I'd ask her, When did I ever say that? This morning while you were still in bed, you said Uh-huh. I assumed that meant yes.
Do Good - Are you trying to con God into giving you something? Instead of trying to manipulate your circumstances, just pray and ask for what you want and need.
I cant even remember how many times I had that conversation with Beth. I probably would have said yes at least some of the time if she had asked to borrow my clothes when I was awake. Unlike me, God is never half-asleep when we approach Him. Also unlike me as a teenager with my little sister, He will always respond generously and with our best interest in mind.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7. Read more about asking God for what you want.
Jesus, thanks for telling us that we can simply ask for what we need and want. I love how generous You are towards me!
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
