Positive Point of View
Up To Know Good on Friday

September 22, 2006

traffic on the highway

It was a beautiful Sunday morning, and I was on my way to church. Another car drove closely behind me. At every move, I started to imagine what the other driver was thinking. Hey, Lady, speed up! I don’t have all day here! Whoa - you call that a stop? And what’s with that sudden lane change? You’re a terrible driver!

Do Good - Listen to how you speak to yourself. Are you positive or negative? Become even more aware of the attitude you have towards yourself and choose to be encouraging.

Suddenly I realized that I was insulting myself. I couldn’t hear what the other driver was thinking; I fabricated all of those negative comments. As soon as I became aware of this, the comments stopped. I didn’t want to be ridiculed and could choose not to be! Let’s decide to speak and think positively about ourselves in all situations.

“Be made new in the attitude of your minds,” Ephesians 4:23. Read a little more in Ephesians 4:17-24.

Jesus, I notice that You never spoke badly of Yourself. Help me to change my words and thoughts so that I am positive with myself, too.

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
