The Sweetness of Surrender
Up To Know Good on Wednesday
October 04, 2006
A few years ago when I taught piano and voice lessons, I picked up and cleaned my home daily. When I was really busy, however, I would grab a pile of papers and put them into a closet. It was one of the few hiding places in my tiny apartment; unfortunately, the papers ended up hiding there from me as well. A few years after I began this cleaning method, I started shoveling my way through stacks of old mail, receipts, and letters. Eventually I sorted everything out, and my closet was back in order again.
Do Good - Do you have a stack of papers somewhere? Plan time this week to face it and sort through them. As you do, consider what internal clutter you may be hiding and holding on to as well.
At times I have stuffed hurt, disappointment, and fear into a closet of my soul, just as I tried to hide and avoid those papers. Thankfully, God has shown me that as soon as I let Him in to help me, He will sort through my messy thoughts and emotions. God loves to bring order and peace where we have confusion and clutter. Lets surrender any hidden places we may have in our lives to God and enjoy His peace today.
We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5b. Click here to read more.
God, I want peace and order where I have been hiding hurt and pain. I surrender these closets in my soul to You today.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
