Sensing God
Up To Know Good on Monday
October 16, 2006
I sat down on a rock near the walking path, closed my eyes, and listened. I could hear the rushing water of the near-by stream. The sound of it running over the rocks and through its carved path in the forest was captivating. I turned my head with my eyes still shut and heard it echo throughout the woods. Apart from seeing or feeling the mist of the water, the refreshing sound alone of the brook dancing over the stones was revitalizing.
Do Good - Stop and listen to the sounds around you. What do you hear? Traffic? Nature? People? Reflect on how they display and express Gods presence in your life today.
As I lingered by the stream, I reflected on how alive the bubbling water sounded. In some places, it hurried over rocks and then trickled slowly through a pool of water. Everywhere it was moving forward; sometimes loudly, sometimes like a quiet undercurrent. Gods Spirit moves similarly in my life. At times Gods presence is audible and obvious, and many times, He is the quiet current moving through my life, revitalizing me. Whether bold and noisy or hushed and subtle, the Spirit is always there if I pause long enough to listen.
Whoever believes in me [Jesus], as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. John 7:38. Click here to read more about the Spirit.
Holy Spirit, thank You for your presence and your movement through my life.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
