Tiny Kindnesses
Up To Know Good on Tuesday
November 07, 2006
In college it was part of a daily routine to check our mailboxes when we were done with lunch. Most days there was nothing there, but around Thanksgiving, gifts started to appear. One of my friends received a card with a small trinket. You are special, was all the note read. A few days later, another friend received a similar gift, and several days after that, a third classmate found an encouraging note and package in her mailbox.
Do Good - Send an encouraging note and small gift to someone anonymously today.
The giver remained anonymous, and for several weeks the packages continued to arrive. The tiny, silent kindnesses became major a focus of our conversations. They seemed to appear just when each recipient was feeling discouraged. While the mystery of who was never solved, the answer to why was clear - to encourage and uplift. We have opportunities everyday to do the same. Lets look for empty mailboxes in others lives and pray about how we can fill them up.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, Galatians 6:10. Click here to read more.
God, please help me to see opportunities for secret, tiny kindnesses today.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
