Up To Know Good on Friday

As I took my aisle seat on the plane, I quickly realized that I was sitting in the middle of a family of five. Next to me was Dad, Jim, with a little boy, and across the aisle was Mom, Jessica, sitting between two young girls. I asked Jim if he wanted to switch seats, but he said they were fine. Throughout the flight, I chatted with them and passed sippy cups and toy trucks back and forth between Jim and Jessica. The girls were busy with coloring projects, and I was about to hand their latest drawing over to Jim when the oldest daughter, Marcy said, “This is for you.”

Do Good - Send a thank you note to at least one person today either electronically or through the mail.

I looked at down and saw that Marcy and her sister had traced their hands with their crayons. In each finger was a letter of their names and next to them a note which read, “Thanks for giving us a hand.” I thanked Marcy and carefully put the paper in a folder inside my carry on bag. I often forget how much a thank you note really means. It takes only a few minutes to write one, and the positive feelings that result for everyone often last for many days.

“He fell face down on the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. Jesus asked, ‘Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?’” Luke 17:16, 17. Click to read a short story about one man's gratitude.

Jesus, I take so many people, gifts, and even miracles for granted. Forgive me, and thanks for giving me blessings on blessings today!

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
