Up To Know Good on Tuesday
November 14, 2006
When Myron and I got married, I moved into his house. Though it was now our home, the closets were full of his clothes. Needing to make room, we went through his wardrobe. He sorted out shirts, pants, shoes, and coats that he hadnt worn for years. Stacks of clothing began to pile up. After a long weekend of organizing, he still had more than enough clothes to wear, and I was able to put my outfits into the closet.
Do Good = Do you have shirts, pants and shoes in your closet that you never wear? Set aside some time to sort through your clothes. Donate the extra items to a local charity as a part of your errands this week.
After the weekend of sorting, we carried three large laundry baskets to our local Christian outreach center. As the volunteers helped us unload the items, they were thrilled to see so many mens clothing items. They told us that is what they had really needed, and they immediately began to display the boots and coats. Seeing their incredulous happy faces was a gift in itself.
I needed clothes and you clothed me," Matthew 25=36a. Click here to read Matthew 25=34-40.
God, thank You for so often providing more than we need. Help us to learn to share our abundance with others.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.
I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
