The Present of Presence
Up To Know Good on Tuesday
December 05, 2006

Last month, my sister, Beth, and five month old nephew, Palmer, visited us. It had been several months since we had seen them, and we were delighted to see Palmer aware and responsive to his surroundings. One morning I began to sing to him as he sat on the floor. His eyes opened widely, and he smiled generously as I sang and pointed out his Head, shoulders, knees and toes (knees and toes.)
Do Good - Turn on some music and/or listen to a favorite song and envision God singing just to you. Give God your full attention during the song.
Obviously Palmer is too little to talk with us yet, but he gave us the gift of his presence in his eyes and laughter. There is something very rewarding about receiving a babys undivided attention. As I spent time with Palmer, I understood that God doesnt want my work or my accomplishments nearly as much as He simply wants me. God enjoys and delights in the simple present of our presence.
The Lord will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17b. Read more about Gods love and promises for His people.
God, thank You for delighting in me more than anything I can do for You. Help me to be fully present with You for a few moments today.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
