Seeing Christ at Christmas
Up To Know Good on Tuesday
December 19, 2006

A little over a month ago a good friend hosted a baby shower for me. Family and friends arrived from all over the country to help us celebrate. We played games, ate great food, and opened lots of gifts. Baby received a number of adorable outfits, blankets, toys, books, and practical necessities. Several friends also said they had more to give us, but that we should simply come to their homes to get the additional baby items. I was so amazed at the generosity of everyones gifts and love.
Do Good - Write down at least three expectations that you have about this holiday season and evaluate your attachment to them. Decide if you need to keep or let go of these expectations.
As I look at the many beautiful baby items, I realize what a contrast it is to the little Mary and Joseph had when Jesus was born. They had no doctor, no hospital room, no family near by. No diapers, no cute tiny outfits, no cradle and no toys were stacked up for the little one. It was such a different birth than what we expect and experience in our culture. Even more, it was such a different Christmas than what we expect and experience in our culture as well.
She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7b. Click here to read part of the Christmas story.
Jesus, help us to see that a perfect Christmas might look very different than our expectations. We dont want to miss it!
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
