Seeing Christ at Christmas - Up To Know Good on Wednesday

Seeing Christ at Christmas
Up To Know Good on Wednesday

December 20, 2006

hand knocking on a door

A few months ago my husband and I were invited to a party at a neighbor’s house. We didn’t know much about the get together, so we showed up without any gifts or food. It felt awkward to walk in empty-handed, but we were quickly greeted with smiles and hugs. After a few hours of visiting with them and their friends, we felt even more welcomed and comfortable.

Do Good - Ask God who He wants you to visit today; listen with your heart. Don’t prepare - just go with your eyes and heart ready to see Jesus. Trust God that the visit will be a treasure to that person.

A few weeks later we went back to visit our neighbors again; we spontaneously dropped in to reconnect and say hello. Like before, we were greeted with smiles and warm hugs and the gift of friendship. In a similar manner, after being told the Good News by the angels, the shepherds hurried to find Jesus without any preparation. Their visit was the only gift needed, and it was deeply treasured by Mary.

“The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.” Luke 2:20. Click to read about the shepherds’ visit to Joseph, Mary, and Jesus.

Jesus, thank You for taking us just as we are. Help us to be willing to go on spontaneous, divine visits.

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
