Expect Delays Road Sign

Myron and I had navigated through heavy traffic, detours due to construction, and torrential rains. We were nearly out of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, and I finally let my hands unclench the steering wheel. Just as I thought we were free of the city traffic, I saw another orange sign telling me to, "Expect Delays."

Just as the sign predicted, the traffic again began to slow down and pile up on the interstate. The rain was less intense, but still falling. We decided to pull into a shopping center, feed the baby, and take a break from the road for awhile.

Hours later, as we finally pulled into our garage, I checked the time. I was surprised to realized that we had been traveling for eight hours - exactly what we had estimated. Our seemingly never-ending trip wasn't any longer than we originally planned.

At times I have braced myself for life's storms. I've muttered my way through rain and slow downs, thinking I was experiencing major delays. Much later, I realized that I was on schedule all along. Looking back, I can see how God wasted no time navigating me closer to my destination - knowing Him.

"A person's steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?" Proverbs 20:24. ( Click here for more wisdom from Proverbs.) Certainly in life we can expect delays. Let's trust in those times that God is right on schedule, waiting to show us ways to Know and Do Good like never before.

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

Sara

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!

Blessings,
Sara
