Up To Know Good on Thursday

January 18, 2007

I was sitting in a restaurant at Disneyworld with a couple of friends. We were enjoying a terrific meal when they said, “Why don’t you come to Italy with us in a couple of months?” I looked at them incredulously, sort of chuckled to myself, and smiled. “Thanks, but you already have your trip planned,” I answered politely. “But there’s room for you, too,” they insisted. “You should come with us!” A few months later, I was enjoying many terrific meals with my friends in Italy.

Do Good - Give a gift to someone who isn’t expecting it today. As you give it away, remember that God wants to bless you today, too!

As though the trip to Disneyworld wasn’t enough, these friends also brought me to Italy. It was a glorious experience that I will never forget. Even with this proof of His love, I still find myself laughing incredulously at the fact that God wants to give me great gifts. I need to remember it’s not about deserving them, but simply and gratefully accepting them.

“Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, ‘Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?’” Genesis 17:17. Read Abraham’s conversation with God in Genesis 17.

God, I’m sorry that I don’t always get it when You say You love me. I know You have great things in store for me. Thank You!

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
