Divine Interruptions
Up To Know Good on Thursday
January 25, 2007

It was only 5:00 am, and I got up unusually early. I was scheduled to sing on the worship team at church. My husband was out of town on a ski trip with our only car, so I had arranged for friends to pick me up. Shortly after 6:00, I put on a jacket and headed out the door to wait for my ride. As I opened the door, I saw a note on the welcome mat. It was from the local police asking me to call them ASAP.
Do Good - When you get interrupted, what is your initial reaction? If you start feeling annoyed with circumstances today, consider how you are subsequently treating the people around you.
By the time I read the note, my friends
arrived. They waited as I made the call. The
woman on the other end of the line calmly
said, Maam, you need to stay there, we are sending
an officer over right away to talk with you. What is
this about? I asked impatiently. Maam, you just
need to stay there, she responded simply. Not
hiding the rising agitation I felt, I tried to negotiate
with her. Im on my out for the morning; could I
meet with the officer later today? No, Maam, she
said evenly. Hell be over shortly. Frustrated, I
rudely hung up, said good-bye to my friends, and
went back into my apartment to wait.
To be continued.
"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:12 Click here to read this verse in context..
God, help me to be patient and kind with others when my plans get interrupted.
Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
Blessings,
Sara
