The Beauty of Being - Up To Know Good on Tuesday

The Beauty of Being
Up To Know Good on Tuesday

January 30, 2007

It was early enough that the sun had not fully risen over the mountains. Still, the ambient morning light was enough to illuminate our campsite, and we started a breakfast of pancakes and sausage. As the delicious smell of our food rose up from the fire pit, the bright round sun began to fill the sky above us. I took in the beauty of the gradually brightening mountain scenery around me and let the pancakes melt in my mouth.

Do Good - Take time to eat a meal near a window or outside today. What beauty do you see? How does it enhance the taste of your food? Engage your senses and enjoy a few moments of being.

Those were the best pancakes I have ever eaten. No doubt the gorgeous setting I was in contributed to their divine flavor. It’s easy when I’m on vacation to sit back and enjoy something as simple as breakfast, but what a gift we would give ourselves if we could slow down enough every day to savor life - even just for a few moments. Let’s not miss the chance today to do just that.

“All I want is to sit in his shade, to taste and savor his delicious love.” Song of Songs 2:3. Click here to read more.

God, slow me down enough to savor Your delicious love today.

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!
