The Beauty of Being - Up To Know Good on Wednesday

The Beauty of Being
Up To Know Good on Wednesday

Monet Waterlilies

I walked through the gallery at a steady, calculated pace. I was at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and my goal was to see as much as possible. With only one afternoon to enjoy this stop on my trip, I felt a little hurried. However, as soon as I arrived at the impressionists and saw a room full of glorious Monet paintings, I stopped - paralyzed by the beauty around me. Something inside of me began to soften as I drank in the muted colors and melting landscapes.

Do Good - Even if you don’t typically visit museums, take a few moments to look at some artwork around you today. Notice how it makes you feel.

I don’t remember anything else I saw that day, but I will always be able to recall the peace and tenderness I felt looking at those paintings. It was a moment I wanted to revisit over and over again because there I was free to just sit and feel and be. What a beautiful experience it is when we realize that God simply wants us to be. What a delight it is to know we can revisit His peace and tenderness over and over again simply through prayer and moments like this.

“He [Jesus Christ] came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” Ephesians 2:17-18. Read more about receiving the peace of God.

Lord, as I look at You and spend time with You now, please soften me with Your peace and tenderness today.

Know Good. Do Good. Feel Good.

Sara

I pray that you have a great day as you experience and express God's love in fresh, real ways!

Blessings,
Sara
